This is a de-throning spell in print form.
Inspired by 19th–century Japanese matchbox art, this piece uses the language of old-world imperial iconography to undermine it from within.
Two lions — the eternal symbols of empire, monarchy, and dominion — are shown gripping the world.
The crown hovers over them, as if inevitable, ordained, divine.
You and I know different.
NO KINGS is the counter-prayer.
The unlearning.
The ancestral refusal of hierarchy, ownership, and the myth of “deserving rulers.”
